Why and How to use this site
Our intent in creating this website is to provide a resource –not answers- for future stage managers at Messiah College.  The stage manager’s job varies from show to show, and we want to create a place where any stage manager can get an idea about the ins and outs of this delicate work.  By no means are our opinions and solutions to problems the only way to think.  We only wish to supply you with options and momentum in creating your own methods to be an effective stage manager. 

This site will explain the various duties of a stage manager, assistant stage managers, the required paperwork and meetings that you are responsible for and hopefully prepare you to take on the task of managing a show.  This site can be used to gain a general overview of the stage manager’s roles and responsibilities, or to be a quick reference while within the process and in need of a refresher.  No two show experiences are alike, and each time you begin it is very helpful to have a point of reference to keep you focused on the individual tasks and the show as a whole.  We hope this website can be this point of reference for you.  Good luck!
