Daniel Finch, MFA

Daniel M. Finch was born in 1971 in Orlando Florida. This was, incidentally, the same year that Disneyworld opened its doors. Childhood was spent in various areas including Virginia and Maryland before settling in Augusta Georgia.

The son of a sculptor, Daniel went on to Augusta State University to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in two-dimensional studies. in 1996, he married long-time girlfriend Carrie Ligon. After 3 years of working and painting post -graduation, he entered the graduate program of the University of Georgia where he received the terminal degree of Master of Fine Arts in the field of Painting and Drawing. UGA retained him as an adjunct professor the following year before his coming to Messiah. He and his wife welcomed their first child, Mira Grace Finch, into the world on July 1, 2003. Daniel's images have been exhibited nationally as well as internationally, including Italy and Scotland. Most recently, his work was seen in the National; publication, New American Paintings . He is represented by the Prater Rouse gallery in Virginia Beach .
