Admission to the Department:
Admission to the department does not require a portfolio unless you are applying for an arts scholarship (see Vollmer Scholarship link).
We believe that our students come from a variety of backgrounds with differing educational levels and experiences in the visual arts. This is not always an indicator of whether these students will succeed in the department. During the second semester of the sophomore year studio and art education majors must participate in sophomore review.
