State Authorization of Distance Education Compliance, Information, & Directories
Messiah College is required by the U.S. Department of Education to be in compliance with state laws where we offer distance and/or correspondence education. Each state has a different set of laws that regulate higher education institutions. The chart below lists each state and any restrictions that apply to Messiah College students. In addition, Messiah College has made available to all students the complaint process by state for students that want to register an official complaint in their home state.

Information for Permanent Residents of Maryland Messiah College is registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission through June 30, 2013 to enroll Maryland residents in our fully-online distance education programs. We are in the process of making application to extend our registration through June 30, 2014. As such we are providing the following link to Maryland residents per the Maryland Commission on Higher Education regulations. Messiah College is subject to investigation of complaints by the Office of the Attorney General of the Maryland Higher Education Commission. This link provides Maryland students with the appropriate contacts regarding their rights and the complaint/grievance process.
