Job Description

CCO Staff Person: Gregory S. Anderson
Position Title: National and International Service and Mission Director
Responsible to: Director of Agapé Center/Director of Student Ministries
Skills: Ability to articulate service and mission connection to faith and higher education. Administration and coordination of programming. Human Resource Management. Ability to work with people.

Responsibilities:
  1. Required to live on campus during contract dates.
  2. Administrate and direct the summer service and mission team program.
    1. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for team leaders and participants.
    2. Coordinate with the College Development and Publications Office to raise the necessary funds for teams.
    3. Provide in-service training on funding process to leaders and students.
    4. Coordinate with Health Services for required immunizations, medications, and other health-related preparations for teams
    5. Plan, coordinate, and run the team orientation program for the Fall and Spring Semesters, including the Orientation and Re-entry Retreats.
    6. Plan and administer national and international service and mission team budgets.
    7. Provide risk management plan for all teams. Be on call and coordinate the on-campus response during a crisis.
    8. Promote and recruit students for service and mission opportunities on teams and as individuals.
  3. Provide counsel to individual students seeking to serve nationally or internationally over breaks or summer.
  4. Seek and evaluate new opportunities provided by agencies through mail, e-mail, and networking at national conferences (FSTML, NSTMC, Urbana).
  5. Maintain current up-to-date files and database on mission agencies and opportunities.
  6. Administer the Summer Mission Grants (Frey Family, WCF and Parents’ Council) and Mulberry Foundation program. Chair the Grant Selection Committee.
  7. Supervise work-study students (2 Program Coordinators, 6 Team Coordinators).
  8. Actively serve as advisor to World Christian Fellowship student leaders and programs.
    1. Provide mentoring and support to student leaders.
    2. Jointly plan and administer Mission Awareness Week
    3. Collaborate on year-round programs to provide education and awareness of service and mission.
  9. Actively serve as advisor to Service Trips: Team Ministry During Breaks (teams that serve nationally over Fall, J-Term, and Spring Breaks).
    1. Provide mentoring and support to student leaders.
    2. Jointly plan and run leader training and debriefing for team leaders of Fall, J-Term, and Spring Breaks.
    3. Provide education and training for issues related to justice and service.
    4. Coordinate risk management plan for all teams serving over breaks.
  10. Actively participate as a member of the College Ministries Staff.
  11. Actively participate as a member of the External Programs Staff.
  12. Actively participate as a member of the Agapé Center Staff.
  13. Carry out other duties assigned by the Director of the Agapé Center and the Director of Student Ministries.

Coalition for Christian Outreach

  1. Responsibility to develop as a team member of the Coalition for Christian Outreach which includes: Coalition for Christian Outreach training, involvement in the Jubilee Conference, and personal support raising.
  2. Assist in coordinating efforts for students to attend Jubilee Conference.
  3. Mentor and disciple students in holistic, biblical worldview.
