Local Service
This branch of the Agape Center provides opportunities for students to get involved in the community. Students tutor children, help build houses, get to know elder members of the community, bring blankets to the homeless and meet many other community needs. Students are involved in after-school programs, Habitat for Humanity, homeless shelters, and retirement centers to name a few. You can get Involved! One opportunity for sophomore, junior and senior students to serve locally is through the Service for Chapel Credit program in partnership with the College Ministries Office on campus. In place of attending chapel services, students serve the local community through Outreach Teams, read articles relavant to community development and faith development and write reflections from their experiences. Applications are accepted in the beginning of each semester. Also, if you are a community partner or individual with a need for volunteers, feel free to post the opportunity on our blog. Students in search of one-time service projects or on-going service apart from Outreach Teams can go here to find opportunities. For More Information Contact: rowen@messiah.edu |
