Service Day: April 10, 2014




On Thursday, April 10, 2014, classes will be canceled to give students, faculty, and staff

an opportunity to serve together as an expression of our common commitment

to service at Messiah College.


What is the purpose of Service Day?

Service Day

Mission Statement: to encourage students, faculty and staff alike to participate in service and engaging with and contributing to the local community on a personal level. Service Day is designed to help fulfill Messiah College's mission to prepare students “for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society."


What Can I Do for Service Day?

If you are a student currently enrolled in a Created & Called for Community (a.k.a., CCC) course, then don't worry! You are automatically signed up for the Special Olympics through your CCC course section.


If you are NOT currently enrolled in a CCC course, you can sign up for one of the following opportunities:

  • Special Olympics Track & Field Buddy
  • Special Olympics Pool Buddy
  • Special Olympics Events Volunteer
  • Off-Campus Volunteer (varying opportunities available)

How Do I Sign Up for a Service Day Project?

To sign up for a volunteer opportunity, click on the "Get Involved" tab located on the left-hand panel.
