Community Partners
- Abba's Place: This team works with the New Jerusalem Christian Church in inner-city Harrisburg by providing an evening children's club. Through a loving environment, the volunteers witness the saving message of Jesus Christ, give a positive example of Christian living, and provide a place of security. Activities of student volunteers include hanging out with kids, singing songs, breaking into groups for lessons and eating snacks! A few extra extra activities are usually organized including, a sleepover at Messiah.
- New Hope Ministries: This ministry center helps families enduring crisis. Families hear about the children and youth program because they have come to the center for some form of financial assistance. The program is designed for children and youth (grades 1-12) that come from low-income families. They are "at risk" of early drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, delinquent behavior, dropping out of school, and sexual promiscuity. New Hope desires to make a difference in their lives now. Presently teams volunteer at the Dillsburg, Dover and Mechanicsburg New Hope Centers.
Young Life: Young Life is a relational ministry to high school and middle school students that seeks to introduce kids to the person of Jesus Christ. There are about thirty Young Life leaders from Messiah, Dickinson, and HACC. Currently Young Life is active in five area schools (Cumberland Valley High School, Cumberland Valley Middle School, Boiling Springs High School, East Pennsboro High School, Carlisle High School, and Northern High School) as well as in Hershey High School.
