Nicaragua

The Messiah College team traveled to the Nehemiah Center, a leadership-training program affiliated with Food for the Hungry, to assist in its programming as well as connect with other local FH projects including micro-finance projects, continued relief work and construction recovery from Hurricane Mitch, and agriculture and subsistence farming recovery programs.

Ecuador

Through Bridge Builders, students partnered with the people of El Quinche and Compassion International, aiding in the construction of a new facility for children at the church ‘El Buen Pastor.’  The project expansion helped to allow the Student Center ‘Nueva Amanecer’ to open their doors to more children and better serve the students already attending.

This Messiah Team’s specific project focused on mercy ministry in Shinyanga, Tanzania which is connected with the Africa Inland Church and Africa Inland Mission (AIM). There the team assisted the local church and social service network in providing care for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Dominican Republic

Serving as a team of summer interns, each Messiah student had a variety of responsibilities while assisting the staff of Student International. This included translating for short-term teams, that come to serve, leading Bible studies, airport runs, accompanying teams on their excursions, leading worship, organizing evening activities, praying for staff, and the teams, and participating as co-leaders in specific minstry sites.
