Summer Team Missions Timeline

October:

• Summer Teams Information Night: Check out the trips that will be taking place the following summer and pick up an application.
• Applications and recommendations are due at Agape Center two weeks after information night.

November:

• Interviews and team selection.
• Acceptance letters sent out.
• Support-raising information night for all Spring Break and Summer Teams.
• Initial individual team meeting.
• Begin compiling and a list of 75 names and addresses for support letters.
• Solicit support from friends and relatives over Thanksgiving Break.

December:

• $100 deposit due to the Business Office.
• Submit your list of names and addresses to your team leader.
• Send out support-raising initial appeal letters.
• Individual team meeting.
• Apply for a passport.
• Continue weekly team meetings.
• Solicit support from friends and relatives over Christmas Break.
• Have a Merry Christmas! Enjoy your break!

January:

• Individual team meeting (optional).

February:

• Weekly team meetings begin.
• Plan team fundraisers.
• Send out thank you notes to those who have supported your team.
• Schedule a time to get immunizations.

March:

• Continue weekly team meetings.
• Team fundraisers.
• Send out thank you notes to those who have supported your team.
• Solicit support from friends and relatives over.
• Spring Break Phone-a-thon for teams still needing to reach their goal.

April:

• Summer Team Orientation Retreat (off-campus).
• Continue weekly team meetings.
• Team fundraisers.
• Send out thank you notes to those who have supported your team.
• Final support raising goals met.

May:

• Summer Teams commissioning service in chapel.
• Last team meeting before departure.
• Send out thank you notes to those who have supported your team.
• Final exams and move-out.
• Commencement.

June to August:

TEAMS GO OUT AND COME BACK!!!!!

September:

• Summer Teams debriefing and re-entry retreat at Messiah College.
