Individual Grant Opportunities
Grant Applications for Summer 2008 are no longer being accepted. Applications for 2009 will be available January 2009 in the Agapé Center or online. Additionally, we can provide you with various support-raising ideas as you prepare for your service and mission experience.
Are you concerned about the financial aspect of being involved in a summer service and mission experience? Then check out the financial resources, listed below, that are available to help alleviate the financial burden.
- WCF Grant: Your fellow students raise money for this fund which helps to assist with summer experience expenses for those who serve a minimum of one week with an established organization.
- Messiah College Parent's Council Grant: Up to $1,800 is available to assist students with summer ministry expenses for those who spend at least one week serving.
- Frey Family Grant: Each year, up to seven $2,000 grants are given toward tuition for a student serving a minimum of eight weeks with an established organization.
- Mulberry Foundation Grant: Each year, up to ten $3,000 grants are given to students serving a minimum of four weeks with an established organization. The grant will be credited to the student's account for the academic year following the summer mission experience.
December: Grant applications become available
February, last week: Grant applicants are due
Early March: Grant applicants are notified as to
whether or not they received a grant
April: checks are sent out to student's organization
or church
--Can seniors still apply and receive grants? - Yes, but not the tuition based ones.
--Does the grant money go toward the trip costs - Yes & No.
--Two of the grants (WCF & Parent's Council ) go directly to your trip costs,
--The other two go toward tuition for the following fall semester.
--Can you apply for more than one grant? - Yes, Please indicate preference.
--Are applications available now? -Yes.
