Katie Robb

Katie Robb/Students International

“I would like to desire less things and more God. I have seen how beautiful a simple life is, not cluttered by excessive stuff.”

Katie Robb spent the summer working in the Dominican Republic with Students International. She received the Frey Family grant for her experience. Katie improved her Spanish and learned a lot about God and others through this trip.

Francesca Scalfaro/ Africa Inland Mission Kenya

“I saw that one by one I was being broken down, only to be re-made and re-molded to be like Him. I found new, more meaningful, dependence upon God. God revealed himself to me in a mighty way this summer and although these situations look like trials, they were blessings.”

Francesca spent seven weeks working with Africa Inland Mission in Kenya. She was a recipient of the Mulberry grant. Francesca worked in slum areas, in an orphanage and in primary and secondary schools. She was able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through skits, personal testimonies, and paint boards to over 8,000 children.

Rebecca Coover/Partners for Haiti

“I had to make myself vulnerable to people I had never met before which was difficult, but rewarding because I got to experience love in a completely different way.”

Rebecca Coover went to Haiti with Partners for Haiti for 7 weeks of her summer. She received the WCF grant to help cover some of her costs. Rebecca did a variety of things in Haiti including some work in schools and in children’s homes. Rebecca learned a lot about herself and God’s grace.

Lisa White/ Africa Inland Mission Namibia

“I believe as part of this body of Christ, we must have both breathtakingly beautiful and cripplingly painful experiences and interactions with those He has called us to love.”

Lisa White spent the summer in Namibia working with Africa Inland Mission for six weeks. She was a recipient of the Parent’s Council grant. While in Namibia, Lisa did some cultural/language training, worked at a preschool for orphaned and vulnerable children and worked in an after school program.
