SOCIOLOGY
On-Campus Opportunities:
visit young troubled teens in juvenile prison weekly at Schaffner Youth Detention Center
Volunteer with special needs adults at the Paxton Ministry Home or Best Buddies
Promote sexual abstinence until marriage in area schools and youth groups through I’m Worth Waiting For.
Spend time weekly with residents of Bethany Village, Seidle Hospital and Messiah Village.
Help prepare and serve food for men and women at Bethesda’s men’s and women’s shelters in Harrisburg, and build relationships with them.
Serve as the
Prison Ministries
Outreach coordinator.
Post-Graduate Opportunities:
Be a group house manager. A group house is a home away from home for Wycliffe members and visitors in another land.
Wycliffe Anthropologists help translators gain insight and understanding of a culture different from their own.
