Dr. Bob Andringa is president of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, an association of 105 member colleges and universities, plus 67 affiliated institutions of higher education located in 23 countries. CCCU's headquarters is in Washington, DC.

A Michigan native, Bob received three degrees from Michigan State University: B.A. in marketing; M.A. in college student personnel; and, in 1967, a Ph.D. in higher education. From 1965?67, Bob was Assistant Director of The Honors College at Michigan State.

Following MSU, Bob fulfilled his Army ROTC commission as a faculty member of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C. He left there in 1969 with the rank of Captain and was awarded the Joint Services Commendation Medal.

Albert H. Quie, then a congressman from Minnesota, appointed Bob to the staff of the Committee on Education and Labor, U. S. House of Representatives, where he served seven years as Republican Staff Director and became a recognized national leader in higher education policy development.

In 1977, when Congressman Quie decided to run for Governor of Minnesota, he turned to his friend Bob to manage the campaign. Quie was elected and Bob stayed in Minnesota for two years to serve as Director of Policy Research in the Governor's Office.

In 1980, the Education Commission of the States called Bob to become its third Executive Director. For five years Bob served the nation's governors, legislators, state boards of education and other state leaders.

From 1985 to 1994, Dr. Andringa was a consultant specializing in services to nonprofit corporation boards and chief executives. His clients now include over 200 boards and CEOs of international, national and other organizations. Bob has spoken to, trained or facilitated more than 1500 business and professional groups and has visited over 110 of the CCCU campuses.

Dr. Andringa has served on several governing boards and numerous national advisory groups. In 1992, Bob was a founder of CEO Dialogues, Inc., a nonprofit organization which helps chief executives pursue biblical excellence in nonprofit service. In 2001, the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Education appointed Bob to chair the National Advisory Council on Institutional Quality and Integrity.

Bob has honorary doctorates from Roberts Wesleyan, Sterling, and Northwestern (IA) colleges. He is the co-author with Dr. Ted Engstrom of The Nonprofit Board Answer Book (2000) and Answer Book II (2002), both published by BoardSource (formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards).

Bob and his wife, Susan, live in Vienna, Virginia, and have two married sons and three grandchildren.
