Gender Studies Project

Mission Statement
To support the College mission of preparing women and men for lives of service, leadership and reconciliation by developing awareness of gender issues and facilitating change through education and advocacy.

Purpose
1) Awareness: to promote, support and facilitate an understanding and awareness of gender in our lives and our society.

2) Education: to integrate gender issues into curricular, co-curricular and non-curricular educational opportunities at Messiah as well as the larger community by, among other things, centralizing existing initiatives and information and providing a recognized home for future efforts.

3) Advocacy: to actively strive to confront gender inequity as well as other barriers that inhibit full inclusion and equal power in society .
