How does my discount work?
When visiting a business listed in the Community Discount Program, you must present your Messiah College student or employee photo ID card at the time of purchase to receive the discount. This will verify to the business that you are a student or employee of Messiah College and are eligible for the discount.
Your discount only applies to your bill. Your discount may apply to others, but they must be included in your bill. Your discount cannot be applied to separate transactions. Please note that businesses are entitled to use their own discretion when providing the discount to large parties.
I own or manage a business. How can I sign up?
If you are interested in our program, please contact the Community Discount Program. We can provide you with some further information, answer any questions you may have, and/or assist you with sign-up. Our program is completely free to you. Although a form must be completed, no formal contract is necessary. After signing up through the completion of our form, you must provide your discount for the dates indicated unless you contact us and decide to withdraw from the program. Besides the form and your agreement to provide the discount, there are no further requirements.
Can my family use the discount?
Your family may use your discount as long as you are present with your Messiah College ID card and you are the purchaser. Please note that this is at the discretion of the business owner, who may only allow a discount on what the student/faculty ordered or purchased.
How do I request a business to be added to the program?
On the Community Discount Program home page, click the Request a New Business Link. (Request a New Business Link should be a link to the form) Fill out the form to request a business that you would like to participate in the program. We cannot promise that all businesses requested will be a part of the program as some businesses may not want to or cannot participate in such programs.
I tried to use my discount at a business participating in the CDP but they would not give me a discount. What should I do?
Did you remember to present your Messiah College ID? If not, the business will may not give you a discount. Businesses also have the discretion to deny an individual of the discount if the party is too large or what the student/faculty member is trying to purchase is not included in the promised discount. If you are denied a discount at one of the participating businesses and feel that this should not have happened, contact the CDP manager at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can contact the business and solve the problem.
I am an alumnus of Messiah College and still have my Messiah College ID; can I participate in the Community Discount Program?
This would be at the discretion of the participating business. The CDP is designed for current students, faculty, and staff and so we ask that if you are an alumnus to please acknowledge this to the business owner. Some businesses may still be willing to give a discount however, we cannot be held liable if an individual has been refused.
Who can use the discount?
Employees, faculty, and students of Messiah College may use the CDP. They must however, remember to show their Messiah College ID to the participating businesses. Family of Messiah College employees, faculty, and students may also use the discount at the discretion of the business owner.
