American History Concentration

Students who major in history with a concentration in American history undergo an intensive examination of significant events, people and periods in American history from colonial times to the present. Coursework is enriched by opportunities to work with professors on research; intern at museums, historical archives and governmental agencies; study abroad for a semester and shorter term; teach in local schools; and train in archaeology locally and abroad.
