World History Concentration

The world history concentration of the history major provides a global perspective on the past through the close study of the histories of Asia, Africa, India and the Middle East. Students in the world history concentration are encouraged to study abroad in locations such as China, the Middle East and Africa to further their understanding of the historical significance of these areas. World history coursework is enriched by opportunities to work with professors on research; intern at museums, historical archives and governmental agencies; study abroad for a semester and shorter term; teach in local schools; and train in archaeology locally and abroad.
