Acceptance of a work assignment indicates that you are willing to keep that particular job for the entire semester. Therefore a student cannot change jobs during the semester without first securing permission from the current supervisor. Students who begin and subsequently quit a job prior to the end of the semester without the approval of the supervisor and/or the Student Employment Office may be ineligible to obtain another work assignment until the subsequent semester. Once a position is accepted, job changes may be made at the end of the semester or the end of the year, as positions are available.

Your supervisor will be in contact with you in regards to the specifics of your work schedule and start date. Most positions start right away at the beginning of the semester. Most students work approximately 8-10 hours per week, based on availability and department need.

Yes. You will need to bring identification for completion of the I-9 form. Please see pg. 9 of the I-9 Form for types of ID that are acceptable. You will need to show us one item from list A OR one item from both lists B & C. The most common types of ID are

(1) passport or

(2) driver’s license and social security card or

(3) driver’s license and birth certificate.

Please note:  our office can not accept copies of your documents. You will not be permitted to start your job assignment until the Form I-9 is completed, so please be sure to bring your documents with you to campus.

In addition, if you want to set up direct deposit for your pay, you will also need to bring a voided check or verification from your bank. Direct deposit is highly recommended.
