If granted admission to the graduate program in nursing, you will be assigned
an academic advisor. Academic advising is an important part of the learning
process at Messiah College; it is a partnership between students and faculty
members. Your academic advisor will assist you with your academic and
professional goals and growth (e.g. course selection and preparation for advancement
through the program). Within the first year of the program each student,
in consultation with his/her advisor, will create a written plan for completing
the program in the desired timeframe. Students are personally responsible for
planning their academic program to meet all graduation requirements.
Academic advisors are charged with the responsibility of communicating with you
at least once each semester in which you are enrolled, but it is ultimately
your responsibility to keep your advisors informed of any changes in your
student record information or circumstances that may prohibit you from staying
on track with the required course work.
