Small groups give you the opportunity to connect with your peers in a more informal setting. The College’s main small-group ministry on campus, propelled by student leaders, is Koinonia. Koinonia is dedicated to small group ministry, leadership training and relationship building. A core team provides leadership, structure, accountability and intergenerational contact in order to equip students to create and run their own small group Bible studies. You can create your own group or join an existing group.
Other opportunities for small group spiritual growth include some nontraditional residential housing options such as the Reconciliation House, open to men who are interested in living in an intentional living environment dedicated to issues of reconciliation and social justice (Social Justice House for women), and the SALT House at Messiah’s Harrisburg Institute. SALT stands for Serving and Living Together. Residents of the house are socially conscious and service-minded students who have the opportunity to practice community life, engage with the city of Harrisburg and examine their role in society in light of service within an urban environment.
