Mission Statement:

The Isaiah 58 Prject is a ministry of mercy to bring help and encouragement to people living with AIDS, their families, friends and caregivers within the New York City area. Our primary goal is to establish deep friendships and sense of trust with individuals we come in contact with as we minister to their needs. By the grace of our Heavenly Father, we thereby earn the right to share the hope within us -- the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Volunteers with the Isaiah 58 Project are given several options -- different ways to best use their individual gifts, interests, talents, and precious time.

Services:

Bailey-Holt House, 180 Christopher Street (& West Side Highway), New York City.

Ron Koustas A 44-person group residence. Private meals with bath. Three meals a day. Comprehensive on-site services.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, volunteers shop, prepare, cook, decorate, and serve Sunday dinner. They develop friendships with those with whom they eat and pray.

St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street (& Grove Street), New York City.

Saturday meals to 75 Greenwich Village persons with AIDS. Reduced government assistance makes this meal for many their only weekend meal.

On the second Saturday of each month, our volunteers join with those from St. Luke to prepare and deliver meals to the home-bound.

Prayer/Fellowship, 101 W 15 Street #4NN, New York City.

Twice a month, volunteers meet for prayer and encouragement, at the home of Maria and Roland Roberts, 212-255-8955.

Notes of encouragement.

City kids from Save America's Youth have created cards and notes which volunteers use to express support and hope to persons with AIDS.

Hospital visits.

Volunteers visit area hospitals to comfort, support, and run small errands for those hospitalized. We hope to continue to be active in their lives beyond their hospitalization.
