A - Messiah College provides extensive academic and career options for students by offering more than 80 majors and pre-professional programs. Learn more about your program of interest by visiting the academic majors page.


Q - What majors are most popular?
A - Across all undergraduate classes, the top five majors are: Engineering (8%), Nursing (7%), Psychology (5%), Business Administration (5%) and Teaching with Dual Certification (4%).

Q - Does Messiah College have an Honors Program?
A - Yes. The College Honors Program is designed for students who demonstrate high scholarly ability early in their academic career. The program provides a series of interdisciplinary honors courses, which satisfies selected general education requirements. In addition, various campus activities are designed each semester exclusively for participants in the College Honors Program. Participation in the program culminates in the preparation and public presentation of an interdisciplinary research project in the senior year. Admission to the program is highly competitive. The College Honors Program is open to first-year students that are selected to receive the Trustees' or President's Scholarships.

Q - Does Messiah College offer a three-year degree option?
A - Yes, Messiah does offer students the opportunity to achieve their goals ahead of schedule by earning a bachelor's degree in either three or 3.5 years. Opportunities vary based on a student's major and numerous other factors. To learn more visit "Three Ways to Three Years."

Q - Where do graduates go after graduation?

Q - Will I be able to get to know my professors?
A - At Messiah, the classes are designed to be smaller, so that students will be able to have more personalized relationships with their professors. Our student to faculty ratio is 13:1. Plus, educators have office hours to be easily accessible to students.

Q - Do professors teach first-year student classes?
A - The professors at Messiah teach a wide range of classes. Since we do not have graduate students teaching ANY of Messiah’s courses, students will have professors teaching even entry-level courses.
