An authentic faith community

Unlike many other Christian colleges, Messiah embraces students from a wide variety of Christian faith traditions. In fact, we believe that learning from each other is part of what it means to be an authentic faith community.

Some opportunities to grow in faith and fellowship at Messiah College include:

  • Chapel services—from the common chapels held every Tuesday and Thursday to elective chapels on a variety of topics help throughout the week, Messiah’s is a community of worship.
  • Powerhouse—a popular weekly student-led praise service
  • The Loft—a weekly Bible study and fellowship opportunity to explore how Christians critique and give direction to culture without buying into the world
  • Koinonia—small groups that come together for prayer, Bible study, worship, service and commitment to each other’s well-being
  • Outreach and service—the on-campus Agape Center for Service and Learning and the Collaboratory provide numerous opportunities to serve locally as well as to travel for mission and outreach opportunities

At Messiah you are grounded in a culture of worship and exposed to compelling realities of the Christian faith. You develop a sense of calling. Your life becomes part of something larger—an opportunity to do good work in God’s world.

“Messiah College has a positive environment with students and faculty who take their Christian faith seriously.”

"Our group split into sections, some running ingenious soccer clinics to 200+ children with only two soccer balls, some using their basketball skills to interact with local girls on the courts and some taking an overview of all Sports Outreach Institute's programs," says student Victoria Hepp about a recent trip to Uganda with AROMA, Messiah's sports ministry program.
