Credits and Quality Points
A credit unit is a semester hour consisting of 50 minutes of lecture,
or two to three such periods of laboratory work per week, throughout a
semester.
A student's cumulative grade point average (GPA) is determined by dividing the number of quality points earned by the number of semester hours attempted in which quality points may be earned (graded total). Credits transferred from other institutions do not carry quality points.
