Dr. Jenny Dose grew up in Toledo, OH and Pittsburgh. She attended Wittenberg University where she double majored in psychology and business. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The Ohio State University. Prior to coming to Messiah in 2000, Dr. Dose taught in the Economics and Management Department at the University of Minnesota-Morris, a well-regarded public liberal arts college. She likes the fact that Messiah is a Christian College and that it is not as cold here as in Minnesota! Dr. Dose teaches courses in the area of Human Resources Management, including a cross-cultural study tour to the Netherlands in which students study Dutch management practices and work on a team project with Dutch students through business site visits.

In addition to her teaching experience, Dr. Dose has experience in performance appraisal, selection, organizational development, and strategic planning consulting for educational, healthcare, and insurance organizations. Her research specialties include group decision making, selection, and work values. She has published articles in Human Resources Management Review, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Employee Rights and Responsibilities Journal, and Applied Psychology: An International Review, and Group Dynamics. She has also published a study guide to accompany a popular Principles of Management textbook.

Dr. Dose is involved in First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. In her spare time she continues to cheer for Ohio State.
