Dr. Vince LaFrance was born and grew up in the Philadelphia area. He attended the University of Delaware (U of D) where he majored in economics and minored in business. While at the U of D he came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Navigators. After working in the business world for two years, Dr. LaFrance undertook graduate studies in economics at The Pennsylvania State University. His doctoral dissertation involved an examination of the international competition in television receivers between Japanese and American firms. His current interests are globalization, the EU and economic development.

Dr. LaFrance took his first full-time teaching position at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. In 1988, after eight years at Dickinson College, he left to join the faculty at Messiah College. He has taught a variety of courses for the Department of Management & Business including a very popular cross-cultural course in Costa Rica. He has also been involved in teaching in the International Business Institute, a summer program required of international business majors that takes place in Europe and Russia. Besides teaching, Dr. LaFrance has done extensive service for Messiah College. Most notably, he served on committees that help shape the college's identity and mission, the academic restructuring, and college governance.

Dr. LaFrance is active in the Carlisle Evangelical Free Church, a church he helped plant.
