Applying for a PIN
The PIN is a unique identifier to let you access your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems and it acts as your signature for on-line functions such as FAFSA on the Web or the electronic Master Promissory Note. It will remain the same from year to year and you don’t have to reapply if you received a PIN in the past. All students and parents should have a PIN.
