Programs with Specific Admissions Criteria

The following programs contain a highly prescribed course curriculum and/or specific program admission requirements. Due to specific program course requirements in these majors, it is also important to notify the admissions office of your desire to transfer as early as possible.

  • Music– Students must be both academically admissible to Messiah University and admissible to the Department of Music, based on a successful audition.
  • Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Dance– Students must be both academically admissible to Messiah University and admissible to the Department of Theatre and Dance, based on a successful audition.
  • Nursing – 3.3 cumulative college GPA required.  If students have taken any nursing or nursing prerequisite courses, they must have obtained a grade of B or higher in each respective course.  Students interested in nursing who do not meet this criteria may be able to attend Messiah for one semester as an undeclared major.  After a successful semester, they may be eligible to reapply to the nursing program.  Please contact the transfer counselor for more information.
  • Nutrition and Dietetics – minimum 3.0 cumulative college GPA required for consideration.
