Issachar's Loft
The people of Issachar “understood the times and knew what they should do.”

1 Chronicles 12:32

In today's culture of compromising values and unclear direction, we need modern day "people of Issachar" who are prepared to stand up for their beliefs and reach out to others.  We need men and women who are aware of what is happening in our times and who will obediently respond to Scripture and give right direction to the world around them.

The Loft provides the following opportunities for students to explore and make connections between faith and every area of their lives.

Who’s Zooming Who—Weekly Fellowship
This is a weekly fellowship and Bible study that meets at the Loft on Tuesday evenings at 8:30pm.  During this time we raise the question, "Are we as Christians critiquing and giving right direction to our culture, or are we simply buying into the world around us?"  Students learn more about current cultural issues and then discuss what a biblical, faithful response might look like in these issues.

Adventure Education
Issachar's Loft provides a variety of adventure-based learning experiences to help individuals and groups grow.  The Loft uses Messiah College's low and high challenge course, canoeing, rock climbing, rappelling, caving, or backpacking to develop leadership and Christian character in participants and to develop more effective teams.

Issachar's Loft Leadership Team
This core team of students is an integral part of providing leadership to all of the programs of the Loft.  Students receive valuable leadership training and mentoring throughout their time on the team.  These students personally seek to become more like "people of Issachar" through meeting together regularly and investing in the lives of students around them.

Creating A Safe Place
An important goal of the Loft is to create a space on campus where students feel at home.  We seek to create an atmosphere where students feel safe to let their guard down and explore some of life's difficult issues.  Various groups and classes make use of the Loft's Great Room as a safe place for discussion.
