First Year Students Library instruction is provided to all first year students as part of their First Year Seminar course. For a list of information literacy objectives for first-year seminars click here. Upper Level Instruction Each librarian serves as a liaison to several academic departments. In this role, in collaboration with faculty members, librarians teach students how to conduct library research in their majors.
