Grandma’s Wartime Kitchen: World War II and the Way We Cooked / Joanne Lamb Hayes |
Hayes takes the reader on a culinary journey through World War II foods. Consisting primarily of recipes from the home front, her book also includes interesting tidbits like “Ten Rules for Wartime Eating.” Each recipe has an introduction and has been “translated and tested for today’s kitchens.” If you’ve always wanted to try Log Cabin Pudding or are just curious about Honey Marshmallow Custard, this book is worth a look. |
