Messiah College to present senior trumpet recital

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 12, 2004) — Matthew Stevens will perform a senior trumpet recital on Saturday, April 3, at 4 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall, located in Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college's Grantham campus. The recital is free and open to the public. For additional information, call (717) 766-2511, extension 3310.

Stevens is a senior majoring in commercial music from Pottstown, Pa. Stevens will be accompanied by Chad Ruegsegger on the piano and assisted by faculty member William Stowman, Ph.D., on the trumpet. He will also be assisted by Emily Mathis on the piano and Andrew Guzik on the percussions. The program will consist of selections that include works by Aldrovandani, Turrin, Delong and others.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 60 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
