Messiah College to perform
"An Afternoon of French Melodie"

GRANTHAM, Pa. (September 13, 2004) — The Messiah College School of the Arts and the department of music present a concert titled “An Afternoon of French Melodie” on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call (717) 766-2511, extension 2570.

The concert program includes classical French Art songs and will feature works by various composers such as, Claude Debussy, Georges Bizet and Maurice Ravel. Concert performers consist of Lisa Coss, Amanda Sachs, Priscilla Acosta, Ann Knettler, Elisa Talley, Katie Hess and Kathryn Rictor. These individuals are all junior voice majors and students of Elaine Henderson and Damian Savarino.

The department of music at Messiah College is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. The department offers majors in music and music education. Through a variety of junior and senior recitals and choral and instrumental ensembles, students gain performing experience both on and off campus.

Messiah College , a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 60 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham , Pa. , near the state capital of Harrisburg . A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia .
