GRANTHAM, Pa. (September 6, 2004) — Messiah College’s Student Activity Board will present a concert featuring pop-rock artist Ben Kweller on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. in Brubaker Auditorium, located on the college’s Grantham campus. Tickets cost $15 and doors open at 7 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Messiah College ticket office at (717) 691-6036.

Kweller will be performing songs from his second album, “On My Way,” the follow-up to his 2002 release “Sha Sha.” This 11-track collection, inspired by the music of Sonic Youth, Pavement and the Beatles, was recorded in the fall of 2003 with Kweller’s band, consisting of bassist Josh Lattanzi, guitarist Mike Stroud and drummer Fred Eltringham.

Born and raised in Texas , Kweller moved to Brooklyn , NY , in 1999 to embark on a solo career after his three-piece punk band “Radish” parted ways. Kweller was soon touring alongside the likes of the Strokes, Dave Matthews Band, Dashboard Confessional, Adam Green and Brendan Benson.
