Suzanne C. Miller Bob Dylan and his band to perform in concert at Messiah College
GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2004) -- Messiah College will host Bob Dylan and his band on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m., in Brubaker Auditorium in Eisenhower Campus Center on the college’s Grantham campus. Doors open at 7 p.m. and there is no opening act scheduled. General admission tickets are sold out for this concert. There will be no seats on the floor of Brubaker Auditorium; the floor will be standing room only. There will be limited seating available. Admission to the auditorium will be on a first-come basis. On Oct. 13, Dylan and his band began a college and university tour, including two stops in Pennsylvania at Messiah College and the University of Pittsburgh. Members of the Bob Dylan band include Stu Kimball on guitar, Tony Garnier on bass, Larry Campbell on pedal steel and guitar, and George Recile on drums. Dylan’s music has been cited as a primary influence by performers from every dimension and genre of music. Currently, there are nearly 6,000 versions of more than 350 Bob Dylan songs that have been performed by nearly 2,800 artists—universal classics such as Blowin’ in the Wind; Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right; I Shall Be Released; Mr. Tambourine Man; Like a Rolling Stone; and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.
