Suzanne C. Miller Messiah College to host Fourth Annual Data Analysis Workshop for Science Fair Projects GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 25, 2004) — The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Messiah College will host the Fourth Annual Data Analysis Workshop for Science Fair Projects on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop is free, open to the public and specifically geared toward teachers and private and home-schooled junior and senior high school students working on science fair projects. The workshop will be held in Room 110 of Frey Academic Hall, located on the college’s Grantham campus. Pre-registration is required and includes a free tour of the Oakes Museum. To register, please e-mail your name, school and grade to eby@messiah.edu no later than Oct. 30. For more information, please call (717) 292-1636. The workshop will cover the nature of uncertainty in experimentation, including how to plan for it, measure it, account for it, and interpret the results. There is no math pre-requisite. The workshop will also explore various tools and techniques at different levels. Thomas H. Short, Ph.D., an associate professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will be presenting. Messiah College , a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
