Suzanne C. Miller Messiah College to present Christmas concert in Harrisburg and Grantham
GRANTHAM, Pa. (Nov. 12, 2004) — For the first time, the Messiah College Department of Music will present its annual Christmas concert in Harrisburg this year as well as continue the traditional performance on the college’s Grantham campus. The first performance will be held Sunday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m. in St. Lawrence Chapel, 110 State St., Harrisburg. Admission to the concert is free, but a $10 donation is suggested. A second performance will be held the same day at 8 p.m. in Hostetter Chapel, located on the college’s Grantham campus. For the campus concert, all tickets are unreserved seating and cost $6 for adults and $3 for students, children and senior citizens. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact the Messiah College ticket office at (717) 691-6036. The Christmas concert will feature performances of sacred and secular holiday music favorites by the Messiah College Concert Choir, Brass Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Chamber Singers and Handbell Choir (campus concert only), as well as an audience sing-a-long. Program selections include “Bogorodyste Devo” by Sergei Rachmaninoff, “Choral Fanfare” by Felix Mendelssohn and selections from “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten.
