Messiah College music faculty to present chamber music recital

GRANTHAM, Pa. (Feb. 24, 2005) — The Messiah College Department of Music faculty members will present a chamber music recital on March 17 at 8 p.m. in Miller Auditorium, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The recital is free and open to the public. For more information, call (717) 766-2511, ext. 3310.

This rare program includes septets by Beethoven, Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Camille Saint-Saens for various instruments. Performers for this recital include, faculty members William Stowman on trumpet, Susan Klick on flute, Jill Marchione on oboe, Jeremy Buss on French horn, Regina Barret on double bass and Kerry Harker-Roth on viola; artists-in-residence at Messiah College and Mendelssohn Piano Trio members Ya-Ting Chang on piano, Peter Sirotin on violin and Fiona Thompson on cello; Messiah College alumna Lara T. Bailey on bassoon; student Johanna Hartman on violin; and guest artist Suzanne Gekker on clarinet.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
