CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College reschedules Kuhlman competition GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 1, 2005) — The annual Kuhlman Competition at Messiah College that was scheduled for Feb. 28 has been postponed due to snow. The competition has been rescheduled for March 21. The Messiah College Department of Music will hold the annual Keith Lance Kuhlman Competition on March 21 at 7 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The competition is an annual event that features several Messiah College music majors competing for a $400 prize. The competition is free and open to the public. For more information, call (717) 766-2511, ext. 3310. The competition was established in memory of the late Keith Lance Kuhlman. Kuhlman, a trumpet player, was a member of the Mechanicsburg Senior High School Band and the Messiah College Orchestra. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
