Messiah College to present student recitals in April

GRANTHAM, Pa. ( March 23, 3005) – Messiah College will present six student recitals in April. The recitals will be held in Poorman Recital Hall, located in Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus.

  • Junior elementary education major Kari Dyrli of Tolland, Conn., will present a student alto saxophone recital on April 9 at 4 p.m. Her selections include “Aria” by Eugene Bozza, “Andante and Allegro” by Charles Lefebvre and arranged by Lucien Cailliet, and “Scaramouche” by Darius Milhaud.
  • CANCELED: Junior elementary education major Sarah Baer of Chambersburg, Pa., will perform a student piano recital on April 15 at 8 p.m.
  • CANCELED: Szewai Grace Li will present a student piano recital on April 16 at 8 p.m.
  • RE-SCHEDULED: Senior music major Damien Wagaman of South Mountain, Pa., will present a student tuba recital on April 24 at 8 p.m. (This recital was previously scheduled for April 10 at 3 p.m.)
  • Senior nursing major Lynette Sollenberger of Manheim, Pa., will present a student clarinet recital on April 28 at 8 p.m. She will be accompanied by sister and Messiah College alumna, Laveena Sollenberger.
  • Senior music major Joshua Evans of Fayetteville, N.C., will present a student piano recital on April 30 at 8 p.m.

The recitals are free and open to the public. For more information, call the music department at (717) 766 -2511, ext. 3310.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
