Messiah College appoints Amanda Coffey as director of human resources

GRANTHAM, Pa. (May 17, 2005 ) — Messiah College recently announced that Amanda Coffey, of Camp Hill, has been appointed as the college’s director of human resources. Coffey’s term as human resources director began May 4.

“I find so many aspects of this new role exciting, but I am probably most excited about the role human resources has in providing infrastructure to support our faculty, administration and staff in pursuing excellence,” Coffey said. “The expectation that the human resources office will be active in Messiah’s continued success is truly wonderful.”

Before coming to Messiah College, Coffey worked as regional director of human resources at PRIMEDIA in Harrisburg. She previously worked in human resources at Merrill Lynch in Princeton, N.J., and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.

Coffey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Allegheny College, in Meadville, and her Master of Science degree in applied behavioral science from Johns Hopkins University. She also received a certificate in Strategic Human Resources from Harvard Business School and a certificate in Employment & Human Resources from Villanova University.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
