CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble to perform GRANTHAM, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2005) — The Messiah College Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Bradley J. Genevro, will perform a homecoming concert on Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. in Miller Auditorium, located in Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call (717) 766-2511, extension 3310. The program will feature, “Irish Tune from Country Derry” by Percy Grainger, “Circus Bee” by Henry Fillmore, “Cheerio March” by Edwin Franko Goldman and “Night Dances” by highly acclaimed wind band composer, Bruce Yurko. With 46 in the Wind Ensemble and 65 in the Symphonic Winds Ensemble, the bands have gained national recognition for their 1998 recording “Cross Winds” and their 2002 recording “Affirmations,” which were released by MarkCustom records. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia. # # #
