GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 19, 2005) — Messiah College will present a concert featuring Jeff Tweedy, with special guest Glenne Kotche, as part of The Faith and Popular Culture conference on Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. in Brubaker Auditorium, located in the Eisenhower Campus Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $20 for general admission. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Messiah College ticket office at (717) 691-6036. The band has released seven albums, and in November 2005, they will release a live disc, recorded in May in the band’s hometown of Chicago at The Vic Theatre. Jeff Tweedy will bring the energy, excitement, clarity, musicality and vision of his group to Messiah College. His concert is the second of two concerts planned as part of the Faith and Popular Culture conference, giving participants at the conference an opportunity to practice thoughtful engagement in popular culture. The first concert will feature performances by Sarah Masen, Sam Ashworth and Matt Slocum. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
