CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College to present lecture on U.S. Dietary Guidelines GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 13, 2005) — The Messiah College Department of Nutrition and Dietetics will present a lecture by Penny Kris-Etherton, Ph.D., R.D., on “The U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005: A Foundation for Reducing Risk of Chronic Diseases” at 1 p.m. on Nov. 3 in Parmer Cinema on the college’s Grantham campus. Distinguished professor of nutrition with the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University, Kris-Etherton is well known for her research on cholesterol and lipid metabolism, and for serving on the 2005 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors.
