CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College Symphony Orchestra to perform Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 5"
GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2005) — The Messiah College Symphony Orchestra will perform on Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. in Miller Auditorium, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the music department at (717) 766-2511, extension 3310. The Messiah College Symphony Orchestra is under the direction of Timothy Dixon, the director of orchestral activities at Messiah College and music director of the West Shore Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra will perform the monumental “Symphony No. 5 in e minor” by Tchaikovsky as well as the “Serenata Notturna” by Mozart. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
