CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Expert to visit Messiah College and discuss strategies for reducing bullying among school children GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 8, 2006) – Local expert Jane Reise, director of bullying prevention services at Family-Child Resources in York and training director for the Olweus Bullying Prevention Group, will present “Bullying at School” on March 30 at 7 p.m. in Alexander Auditorium in the Frey Academic Building on Messiah College’s Grantham campus. Using the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, an international research-based strategy for reducing bullying and other anti-social behaviors among school children, Reise will further define bullying and provide strategies for combating such behavior in schools. Reise has 25 years of experience as a trainer, prevention educator and social worker. She was one of the first certified trainers in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program and currently oversees the program in several schools throughout the country. In addition, she serves on the board of directors of the international Victim Offender Mediation Association. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
