CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College’s United Voices of Praise to present gospel concert GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 31, 2006) —The Messiah College gospel choir, United Voices of Praise, will present their annual spring concert on April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Hostetter Chapel, located on the college’s Grantham campus. The concert is open to the public. For more information, call (717) 766-2511, extension 2360. United Voices of Praise is under the direction of conductor Dwight Thomas, professor of church and ethnic music at Messiah College. United Voices of Praise will perform titles such as “Trouble Don't Last,” “I Will Bless the Lord,” “Everything,” “I Will Go in Jesus Name” and “My Joy.” In addition, the Messiah College mime team, Mimers, will perform during the concert. Since its start in the early 1990’s, United Voices of Praise has reflected the diversity of the college in their singing of urban style gospel music. Composed of 60 vocalists, the gospel choir visits local churches and joins them in praise and worship. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
