CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Senior art students at Messiah College to present last of three exhibits
GRANTHAM, Pa. (April 5, 2006) — Messiah College’s visual arts department will present the last of three exhibits featuring the best work of its senior art students. “Senior Show III” will run April 26 to May 2 with a reception for the artists on April 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibit is in the Aughinbaugh Gallery, located on the lower level of the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. Admission is free and open to the public. “Senior Show III” will feature new works, in a wide variety of media, from eight senior art students. This exhibit will include selections from Elizabeth Allebach, Perkasie, Pa., drawing; Alan Carroll, Lock Haven, Pa., graphic design; Scott McClelland, Havertown, Pa., graphic design; Chelsey Ott, Curwensville, Pa., textiles; Kimberly Rush, Poolesville, Md., photography; Stephanie Spangler, King of Prussia, Pa., drawing; Sarah Thompson, Souderton, Pa., drawing and painting; and Wei Lai, Petrosani, Romania, drawing. All three “Senior Shows” contain work in a variety of media, created by students in Messiah College’s studio fine arts program. Each graduating senior prepares a body of work in the area of his or her studio concentration specifically for one of these exhibits. About the M. Louise Aughinbaugh Gallery Located on the lower level of the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on Messiah College’s Grantham campus, the M. Louise Aughinbaugh Gallery exhibits the work of internationally recognized artists from around the world, as well as faculty and students. Gallery programming supplements campus classroom instruction by bringing practicing artists to campus to demonstrate techniques in classes and by organizing special evening lectures and afternoon gallery talks. The gallery also functions as a hands-on teaching laboratory for students in the college’s course on museum studies. Aughinbaugh Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. .# # # ARTICLE DATE: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2006
