GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 9, 2007) — Youth leaders are invited to join ministry veterans from a variety of churches and organizations on March 31 at Messiah College for a day of worship, educational seminars and round table discussions on the theme "Discerning the Times: Youth Ministry in the Midst of a Cultural Shift."  This second annual conference is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Hostetter Chapel and Boyer Hall on the college's Grantham campus. Duffy Robbins, professor of youth ministry at Eastern University and highly-sought speaker, will deliver two keynote addresses, and attendees will have two opportunities to tour campus.  Registration is $39 per person for groups of three or more or $48 for individuals.  For more information, or to register, go to www.messiah.edu/youthworkers

Robbins will provide two keynote sessions: one following morning worship at 9 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m.  A self-identified youth ministry veteran, Robbins speaks regularly for Youth Specialties, leads youth retreats and provides workshops for youth pastors.  He is a frequent contributor to "Good News Magazine" and regularly writes for "Youthworker Journal," "Campus Life" and "Group" magazines.  He is the author of numerous books, including his most recent, "This Way to Youth Ministry: An Introduction to the Adventure."

Walt Mueller, executive director of the Elizabethtown-based Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, and Stephen Gallaher, founder of Salt 'n Light Youth Ministry and assistant professor of Christian/youth ministry at Messiah College, join other ministry professionals, including Messiah College alumni, faculty and administrators, in addressing topics such as including parents in youth ministry, knowing the changing world of teens and taking a team approach to ministry.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,800 undergraduate students in 60 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
